NHS Litigation Authority Report and Accounts 2014/15 – A Costs Management View

Monday 20 July 2015 saw the release of the 2014/2015 Annual Review by the NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA)

This paper looks at the legal cost headlines created by the Annual Review document (The Report) and poses some (limited) initial questions from a costs management perspective.

It has been created in the interests of provoking further consideration, discussion, response and balance.

This is particularly important in light of the fact that an awful lot of what has been presented within the Report will likely be regurgitated ad nauseam in any future lobbying that will take place to introduce cost capping in some Clinical Negligence Claims, notwithstanding the changes already effected by the 1 April 2013 introduction of parts of the Legal Aid Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (LASPO).

Propus Law would be delighted if you would share your thoughts on the report, and our paper on our LinkedIn page
